On the morning on March the 2nd, a
man out on his early morning walk saw smoke coming from a home on
After the fire was out, he asked the fire chief if everything was OK. The chief said that fortunately no one was inside, and thanks to the 911 phone call, the fire was out before it could spread. Relieved, the man continued his morning walk.
It’s good to know that we have people on this island looking out for their neighbors. With the number of burglaries that have taken place lately, and the unfavorable activity in the park, all of us should make more of an effort to watch out for each other. Call 911 if you see anything dangerous or call 893.7780 for anything suspicious. You could save a neighbor a lot of heart ache and in turn, you can feel safer knowing that someone is watching out for you too.
By the way - many of you have seen this neighbor on his morning walks around the island. He wears a white T-shirt and gray shorts and he smiles and waves to us all as we pass by. It’s nice to know that he is keeping an eye on things. So next time you see him – give him a big smile and wave back.
